    Description

This particular type of carrageenan (Lambda) is used in the process of marbling.  It is mixed with water to make the "size", or thickened water on which the designs are created. The paper or fabric is then lowered from above, making a one-of-a-kind contact print.
Now comes in a sturdy plastic deli-style round container with lid.
Photos #1 & 2 show the powdered carrageenan for sale in this listing.  Photos #3-6 show the carrageenan mixed with water and acting as "size" for marblers; and #7-10 show samples of the papers I create in the marbling tank. This is the same product, tried and true, that I use in my marbling studio for production and teaching. It is 100% organic material, made from an ocean plant called carrageen moss. It is completely edible and will not harm people, pets, tools, or utensils. Kept cool and dry, it stores well for years.
Included is my instruction sheet telling how to mix size from carrageenan, and tips for using it in marbling.  And you will have "tech support" from me via e-mail.  If you have additional questions regarding the use of the carrageenan, I will work with you to answer them!
    IMPORTANT NOTES:
Carrageenan size works well with acrylic paint. For best results, use with other Marbling Supplies products including a full line of specially formulated paint.
1/2 pound (227 grams) is enough to make about 9 gallons (34 liters) of size.
This item is also available in 1 pound packages in a separate listing.
You will need an electric blender to mix usable size with this product.
